At Taitu Farm, our animals are more than livestock—they are an important part of our farm family and the natural ecosystem we work hard to protect and preserve.
All of our ducks, chickens, sheep, and rabbits are free-range, cage-free, and locally raised right here in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. We believe animals thrive best when they are allowed space to roam, forage naturally, and live in healthy, low-stress environments.

Taitu Farm began with a simple island vision: to raise animals naturally, outdoors, and free-range, while creating locally made products that reflect the abundance and traditions of St. Thomas.
What started as a small farming effort has grown into a community-centered farm offering ethically raised animals, fresh farm products, and educational experiences.
Everything we do is guided by respect for our animals, our land, and the Caribbean environment we call home.

Duck Varieties
At Taitu Farm, our ducks are raised outdoors with space to roam, forage, and behave naturally. We carefully select and care for a diverse mix of breeds, allowing us to produce healthy birds and rich, flavorful duck eggs prized for cooking and baking.
Duck breeds on our farm include:

Muscovy Ducks – hardy, excellent foraging ducks well suited to island life

Buff Ducks – calm-natured with beautiful coloring

Black Swedish Ducks – known for strong bodies and quality eggs

Crested Ducks – recognizable by their unique feathered crests

Mallard Ducks – a classic heritage breed
Over time, some of our ducks have also been thoughtfully crossbred, resulting in unique hybrid ducks that are locally adapted to St. Thomas’ climate and environment — a reflection of our hands-on, island-centered farming approach.
